FACTS ABOUT KREUZBERG:

- Kreuzberg traditionally is one of the best-known parts of Berlin.

- Kreuzberg today is on of Berlin's cultural centers

- Kreuzberg during the 1980ies and 90ies was infamous for the riots on May day where demonstrators regularly clashed with police.

- Kreuzberg was always a center for immigrants and most popular with and dominated by the Turkish community.

- Kreuzberg is now part of the combined Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg borough. The restructuring of Berlin was not welcomed by many.
