It depends to a certain extend which part of Mexico you want to visit. Up north and in the mountains it can get chilly in winter.

As for Yucatan: The best time to travel is October till April. High season would be December and January with February being a busy month as well. Rainy season in the south starts in May the latest. There always is a good chance to see a shower on the Caribbean coast.
